"Slippah" comes from the word slipper which is what Hawai'i locals call flip flops. Also called "rubbah slippah" because the most iconic slippers of Hawai'i are made out of some sort of rubber.
Before entering anyone's house we take off our slippahs and if you're at a family gathering, good luck finding your own pair!
